3 TOP TIPS TO CREATE YOUR AWESOME FACEBOOK COMMUNITY

Written By: Demi Price

There are so many great ways to market your Online Business. My personal favourite is Facebook Groups. I love that you can create a community of people, from every corner of the world. You are able to talk with them in real time, schedule content, ask questions, post videos - really, is there anything you CANT do?!

Okay, so now that I’ve convinced you (haha!), i’m going to cover who a Facebook group would be for. I would say it is perfect for someone who wants to have a space for their people to connect; Who wants to create a hub of die-hard fans and customers. It’s like an email list but so much more personal. If you want to become an influencer as well as an established business owner, having a group is a great place to start.

Setting up a Facebook group can be done in a few quick clicks. All you have to do is decide on a name, create a banner and voila.. you’re up and running. However, there’s a few more tips and tricks you can implement to really create a space that you and your people LOVE! (And that makes growth easy peasy!)

2. BE THE LEADER

BONUS TIP: ALWAYS BE GROWING!

- Post on your Business Page
- Post in other groups where you ideal clients/customers would be hanging out
- Post on Instagram
- Post to your Instagram stories
- Do an Instagram live
- Do a Facebook live
- Appear as a guest on Podcasts

So there you have it! If you decide to start your own community and implement these tips I would LOVE to hear about it!

1. CHOOSE A GROUP NAME THAT’S SEARCHABLE

When creating your Facebook group, you want to make it super easy for your ideal clients/customers to be able to find! Ask yourself “what key words would they be searching for?”. For example, if you run a group for mums who want to get fit, some words to include in the name would be “mums” “fitness” “health”. It can be as simple as “Mums getting Fit”. This may seem a little boring but this doesn’t have to be your business name, it just optimises the group for searching! (And you can always change it once it’s grown!)

People love to follow a great leader! Be sure to set the intention for what the group is all about. You can do this in a few ways, including adding rules, a welcome post &/or a welcome video. Not only does this show people what to expect and how to show up for maximum benefit, but it also means you are the first person they see inside the group, and that you mean business. You can find examples of what I mean inside many Facebook groups! Check out your current faves and see if their implementing any of the above!

3. VALUE VALUE VALUE

A mistake many groups make is allowing their groups to become a spam fest. Give Value FIRST. Allow people the opportunity to get to know, like and trust you; so that when you do sell your offers / products etc, they will be waiting to buy! You can do this by posting content daily, in the form of posts, lives, videos, blogs - anything you fancy! As long as it gives them something to take away and remember you for, you are good to go!

Once you have your community ready to GROW, you can begin attracting members in a variety of ways (again, choose what you enjoy - you do not have to do #allthethings).
